KCIC is proud to announce our latest efforts to improve your health with Coronary CTA.
Coronary CT angiography (CTA) is a revolutionary new method for evaluating the heart and coronary arteries. If you're an individual at risk for heart disease, this simple 15-minute test will generate high-resolution 3D images of your heart and blood vessels.
A Coronary CTA clearly shows blockages that may lead to a heart attack. Prior tests could show a decrease in blood flow to your heart. The Coronary CTA cannot only detect narrowed areas in the blood vessels, but accurately show the earliest formation of these narrowings by demonstrating both calcified and soft cholesterol plaques in your arteries. Soft plaques are the most common cause of heart attacks and are not detectable by other noninvasive screening tests.
“Coronary CTA will mold the way we manage heart disease for the next 15 years” said Dr. Jeffrey Conaway, Director of Cardiovascular Imaging at United Imaging Consultants, LLC.
By undergoing a Coronary CTA you'll know exactly where you stand in regards to your heart health. If no abnormalities are found, you can rest assured that you have a very low risk of a heart attack in the near future. If the exam confirms the presence of calcified or soft plaques, you will receive a comprehensive analysis of their extent and severity. The Radiologist reading your scan will go over the results and may recommend follow up exams, treatment or an appointment to see another doctor. Your physician may determine that additional tests or treatment is necessary. Many people find the test results to be a strong motivator in making real and lasting lifestyle changes.
How do I know if I have Heart Disease?

Family history of premature heart disease
High cholesterol
Current cigarette smoking
High blood pressure/currently taking blood pressure medication
