New, State-of-the-Art Facility

Posted on: 07/04/2006

Area residents and employers now have easy access to imaging services, close to home and work. Opening July 24, 2006, the Kansas City Imaging Center, a partnership between Providence Medical Center and United Imaging Consultants, will open its doors at 11011 Haskell, Kansas City, Kansas, near the intersection of 110th and Parallel Parkway (just northwest of the intersection of I-435 and I-70), close to Legends, Nebraska Furniture Mart and Cabela’s.
According to Michael Parsa, M.D., a board-certified radiologist and KC Imaging Center medical director, together Providence and Untied Imaging Consultants have created a premier, full service 8,160 square foot outpatient facility featuring the most advanced imaging technology available. An example is the Magnetom Espree MRI, a unique Wide Bore 1.5T magnet that provides the comfortable experience of an Open MR with the high quality images of a typical closed MR system.—and the first in the Kansas City metropolitan area. KCIC also has an Internet workstation in the reception area that is WI-FI accessible, which allows patients or visitors the convenience to access the Internet wirelessly while at KCIC.
“Besides the latest magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, 40-slice computer tomography (CT) and X-ray technology, we offer a comforting experience with professional staff,” Dr. Parsa adds.
Part of the new building is a private, women’s focused imaging center featuring digital mammography, bone density and ultrasound. Women undergoing mammograms will receive results before they leave—minimizing the stress felt by many female patients.
“We are committed to providing quality medical imaging services in a soothing, comfortable environment,” Dr. Parsa adds. “Our caring, attentive, and well-trained staff is prepared to assist patients through their exam and make their experience the best possible.”
United Imaging Consultants provides the radiologist staff including many sub-specialty physicians. These include neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging, women’s imaging, and magnetic resonance imaging. The team also includes certified technologists and professional client service assistants to provide superior customer service.
KCIC has a digital environment including a cutting edge Radiology Information system and Picture Archiving Communications system for digital archiving of all patient information and imaging. This type of technology ensures patients and physicians have easy access to results.
